The Canal Man

This photograph was taken in Jericho in Oxford. The man did not give me his name, but humbly stood back and said, “Try not to make me look like a murderer”. I think i succeeded in both making him look dignified, and in showing that you don’t need to travel to the most exotic corners of the world to take a moving, inspiring photograph.

Street photographs are mirror images of society, displaying "unmanipulated" scenes, with usually unaware subjects.
