You must be 16 and over to enter.



Contest entries will be judged by a Matt Stuart and Eric Kim.

Entries coordinated by Matt Obrey, Jamie Furlong and Rob Hill.



Entrants retain the copyright to images submitted.



Images for online purposes do not need to be bigger than 2500 px wide.



By entering the competition, you grant Urban Picnic and its sponsors and supporters a non-exclusive, irrevocable licence to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, on any media, the images for any purpose directly connected with the competition. This may include, but is not limited to: inclusion in a book of winning and commended images; display at exhibitions; display on a web browser for judging purposes; on the Urban Picnic website and on the websites of sponsors and supporters; for use in press releases to be distributed to national, regional & specialist press giving information about or promoting the competition.

Entrants also agree that the organisers can sub-license images to the media for reproduction in connection with the competition and exhibition only.

Urban Picnic will make every reasonable effort to ensure that name credits are given to any photograph published in any medium.

Free usage of any photograph will not be permitted by Urban Picnic, or any of its partners or sponsors outside of the scope of the competition and exhibition.

There is no plan envisaged by Urban Picnic, or any of its partners or sponsors, to create a general commercial library of the images entered into this competition.

For any use that falls outside this remit, royalties will be discussed & negotiated with the photographer concerned.

Entry materials may not contain obvious brand names or trademarks (If you are not sure feel free to submit images, you will be told if not OK ) .  Urban Picnic reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject and/or disqualify any entries, subjects, or related materials that Urban Picnic deems to be obscene, defamatory, profane, offensive, lewd, pornographic, false, misleading, deceptive, or otherwise inconsistent with its high standards, audience expectations, or reputational interests or that Urban Picnic believes may violate any applicable law or regulation or the rights of any third party. Urban Picnic reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to verify any element of any entry or related materials, request additional information and to disqualify any entrant whose participation may subject the contest to controversy, negative publicity, scorn, or ridicule.



Registration at Urban Picnic Street Photography ( is not required to enter the Photo Contest. When you register, we collect personally identifying information about you, including your name, and email address. The information that you provide will be added to a centralized database. By entering and providing the required registration information, you acknowledge that Urban Picnic may send you information or special offers it believes may be of interest to you about its publications. Your email address will not be sold or rented to third parties.


Street photographs are mirror images of society, displaying "unmanipulated" scenes, with usually unaware subjects.
